A Holistic Residential design
Connected to Nature in Whistler’s WedgeWoods NeighborhoodThis stunning contemporary home in Whistler’s WedgeWoods community embodies a holistic approach to residential design. The site’s unique stone outcropping determined the position of the prefabricated 4,000 square-foot home in a project that seamlessly blends architecture and landscape. Oxidized corten steel design elements echo the colours and textures of the local stone and guide guests to an impressive 10-foot entry door.
Inside, a T-shaped plan creates distinct public and private zones for entertaining and relaxing. Notable features include a cantilevered master bedroom, chef’s kitchen, integrated lighting and custom millwork – all made more dramatic by extensive glazing showcasing mountain views to the southeast. A steam shower with heated floors, walls and benches is the ultimate balm for tired muscles after outdoor adventures, and the media room opens directly onto a secluded outdoor living area with kitchen, firepit, hot tub and barrel sauna. Flowing lines, open spaces, calming earth tones and the thoughtful use of stone and wood reinforce the home’s connection to the outdoors – creating a residence that is truly at one with its environment.
